Tips:
$5350 for a 17 day safari trip that includes Victoria Falls and Okavango Delta belies the luxury of accommodations and extensiveness of participated activities. Following the tips below, you too can have a high-end experience on an economical budget.
  • Go during the off season: 1) lodgings are almost 40% off 2) places not over-run with other tourists and 3) weather is tolerable 80-90 degrees.
  • Use a local travel agency (I used Rhino Africa) to book everything between pick-up at LVI to arrival at Maun.
  • Book everything else directly.
  • Put in the time and save money; the hours I spent researching and booking directly saved me thousands of dollars.
  • Get a decent travel zoom camera with good video option to capture this once in a life experience.
  • Get your vaccinations and visas.
