hotel review: hotel de seze in paris

(Paris, France).  After reading through several reviews on tripadvisor, I chose to stay at Hotel de Seze because of the consistently good reviews, its convenient location and the charming photos on its website.  It is a small boutique hotel so the photos on the website may lead you to believe it's "larger" but overall we didn't have a problem with the size of the hotel or our room.

Check-In
Upon arrival, the front desk clerk was busy helping with someone but asked that we sit in the cute little lobby area where we were offered complimentary coffees and teas while we waited.  (They also have a complimentary afternoon tea but we were always out and about so we didn't get to enjoy this treat.  They also have a small buffet breakfast in the morning here but I believe it is 20 euros per person.)  The staff spoke very good English so non-French speakers should have no concerns.

Room
Once we were checked in we went up to our room which looked clean, fresh and modern.  While it was small, it offered sufficient storage space and was well situated.  The bed was firm but comfortable.  There was a good-sized safe and complimentary coffee and tea in the room.  (Always a plus with me.)

The bathroom was very bright and modern with a fancy waterfall showerhead.  I especially liked the Clarins toiletries.

We stayed here for 3 nights and was not once disturbed by any noise from neighbors even though we were close to the elevator.

Location
The location of the hotel is great!  It is near the Plaza de Madeline, where there are lots of great shops (e.g., Fauchon, Sephora) and some touristy restaurants.  It's about a 2 minute walk to the Metro (Madeline stop) and you can easily walk or take the Metro to the Louvre, Jardin des Tuilleries, Arc d'Triomphe, Champs Elysee, the Eiffel Tower, etc.  This is especially great for first-timers in Paris.

If you are on the hunt for French pharmacy goods (i.e., Bioderma, La Roche Posay, Avene, sunblock, etc.), there is a small pharmacy right near the hotel that has most of these items for really good prices.  I think they were selling 2 bottles of Bioderma for 16.90 euros, which is way cheaper than getting it in the US or some of the other pharmacies I saw in Montmartre or down near Champs Elysee.

Amenities
I didn't order room service or have the breakfast here so I can't speak for the food.  I will say the coffee is quite good.

There is a gym and a hammam but I didn't try them.

Overall
I would definitely recommend this hotel.  It was a comfortable and convenient stay and I don't have anything negative to say about this place.  Let me know if you've stayed here before or if you have other boutique hotel recommendations in Paris.
